Why is a Red Tie and White Shirt Traditional to wear for First Holy Communion?

Holy Communion is the Christian rite for the receiving of Jesus Christ for celebrating the achievement of Jesus at his Last Supper On the night before his death, according to the scriptures. Jesus consecrated bread and gave them to his disciples saying this is my body, Jesus consecrated wine and gave them to his disciples saying this is my blood.

As representation of this rite many boys wear a white shirt and red tie on their First Holy Communion day.

Why is a Blue Tie popular for First Holy Communion in May?

In Catholic faith it is traditional that the Church dedicates May to the remembrance of Mary, the Mother of God. The Month of May is both named for and dedicated to Mary, -The Month of Mary: honouring Our Lady with her flowing blue cape.

May is seen as the creation of new life and the beginning of Summer, which makes this a time for the celebrations of Mary, who brought life into the world.

In a parish school or church featuring "Our Lady" in their names, boys often wear blue ties to represent Our Lady's blue cape.
