Her Communion Day First Holy Communion Dress
With First Holy Communion days fastly approaching in parishes across UK, many parents will begin the search of affordable, quality traditional First Holy Communion dresses.
The extensive choice of First Holy Communion wear now available, goes to prove just how important it is for First Communion girls to look their best on their special day.
Most parents wish to cherish this special moment by providing their little girl with a beautiful First Holy Communion dress that will help her understand the importance of the event, and remember her First Holy Communion day forever.
While the First Holy Communion dress is definitely not the most important part of the day (the spiritual sacrament is by far more significant), what your little girl wears on this special day will help her feel very special and create memories for a life time.
GIRLS FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONWEAR
What are the trends today and what should you consider when shopping?
You will want to follow your parish requirements for First Holy Communion wear, if you have been given guidelines follow them, as you will want you child to feel that she fits in with her peers.
First, be sure to talk with your child’s Catechist on their requirements for First Holy Communion dresses. Some have none, and some can be very specific.
First Holy Communion Robes
It is some Parish policy that all children wear First Holy Communion Robes because:
All are equal in the eyes of God. They provide the link with baptism. They cut out the fashion parade and put the emphasis back on the SacramentAlthough children can wear what they like underneath, which will include a First Holy Communion dress with all the accessories.

How to Wear a First Holy Communion Veil and Tiara
Have First Holy Communion dress trends changed?
Mother - of - three - boys, Tina Bourke recalls her memories of her First Holy Communion day considers if providing your little girl with a beautiful First Holy Communion dress has really changed?
The photo has faded but the smile is still clear, but where have all the boys gone? My First Holy Communion day took place at St. George's Church, Harrow, in June 1972, and here I am standing in the front row on a sunny summer morning, dressed in white with a wreath of flowers set in my tightly curled hair. Visible between my tight clutched hands is my white bag, filled with my prayer book and rosary, a gift from my parents.
I recently attended one of my goddaughters First Holy Communion day, over 30 years later it is nearly identical. My goddaughter also stood in the front row, so elegant and beautiful in her white dress and holding her white children’s bible a present from me, her Godmother.
For both of us, the meaning and memory of First Holy Communion are much the same, even though 30 years and many changes within the church separate the two experiences. Both of us will always recall the white clothes and the presence of our family. Over the years the details of First Holy Communion day maybe lost but what will always remain are the photographs, and significantly the gifts.
My little prayer book although rather battered has a place on my bookcase, and still bearing the loving inscription from my parents, my rosary again although broken in several places still has a very special place in my jewellery box
I can still remember the preparation, the walking to church every Sunday afternoon for my lessons, the greatest attention was my class lining up, processing, folding our arms saying “Amen” and sticking out our tongues at just the right time.
At home my First Holy Communion was focused on First Holy Communion dress, veil and the Family celebration. As a child I did not see or understand the stress my mum had at knowing when the First Holy Communion dresses would be arriving at our local church or school shop, how many hours she and many other parents stood outside the local dress shop to order and pay weekly for our First Holy Communion dresses and veils. Unfotunately for our parents, in 1972 there was no internet or credit or debit cards !
The things I remember, most vividly about my First Holy Communion was how the catechists helped prepare me the vital aspects of being welcomed to the Lord’s Table and the discipleship that brings.
My First Holy Communion day was a very special and memorable day for me and all of my family that came to celebrate this special occasion.
I am still not sure if all the preparation and significance of providing your daughter with a beautiful white dress has changed, fashion has changed and always will change.
When I look at my First Holy Communion dress, it has the look and feel of a 70’s First Holy Communion dress, and although it was fashionable in 1972, it would be very inappropriate for a little girls’ First Holy Communion day today. I am sure it would probably be rejected from a charity shop!
Every year fashions will change, and as suppliers of First Holy Communion wear, every year we are always looking and researching into the new fashion trends so to provide the best quality First holy Communion dresses.
With so much to do on the morning of the First Holy Communion, a trip to the hairdressers can be extra hassle you don't need.
